Well, here we are at the Penultimate page of the Sailor Bob Saga… (Penultimate, in this case, meaning: the page before the really exciting one) Then following our slam bang finale (which is Next time) – so you won’t be seeing that on this page – Sorry ’bout that… We should be moving on to even greater thrills and frantic action at the botulism begrimed Hot Dog Stand… Ooooo – that sounds scary!!
In the meantime, my apologies for the lateness of this page – I’m still kind’a not feelin’ up to snuff… though our aforementioned Next Page should be posted next week – as it’s already about half finished…
last Friday I attended the first showing of Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Wind Rises” This not only is a great film – It’s different than any other animated film that you’re likely to see! It may also be Miyazaki’s last… If so, it’s a high point to go out on!
I suppose you might look at the film as a love story to Aviation – a fictionalised biography of Jiro Horikoshi, designer of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero… (which you may have heard of) Though that really isn’t the focus of the movie… It’s having a short run in theaters here in the States – so if you’re at all interested, I’d advise you to see it soon!
I have greatly enjoyed all of Miyazaki’s works. Even my wife, who generally does not like animated movies, likes them. I will see it one way or another. BUT – all this ignores the question of the moment, to wit – WHO’S THE GENUINE LOOKIN SAILOR CHICK and what does she intend to do with that winged tonfa? Could Katz & Bunz be in for a Bishoujo bunny-bash? Did Sailor Bob really go down for the count in the otaku stampede? Did I watch too much Batman as a kid? Tune in next week for; Belaboring the Lapin Or Wrap the Rabbit!
Yeah, one has gotta love Miyazaki… I intend to see ‘The Wind Rises” this Friday, and as many times as I can before its run ends…
But meanwhile, as for the apparently “real” Sailor Chick, with purple hair and scanties… Does this mean the Sailor Chix really exist, and are bouncing into action to defend Dirt… I mean, Earth? Or was she somehow brought into existence by the sudden concentration of Fanboy Fetishism in this mob of spotty little geeks? Or is her sudden appearance evidence of something even more sinister and ridiculous? To find out, eat a piece of cheese and wait with bated breath for the next exciting installment!
A police tonfa to a possible super ray gun fight. Hmm, just maybe a magic tinted tonfa. Bunz and Katz may be OK, she might merely have stopped in for a manga item. It might be like two ships merely passing in the night. Or maybe she has heard about earth’s pending doom, and wants to say her two cents about it.
