Easter has come and gone, So seems ’bout time to finish up our Hard Boiled Easter Yegg tale of crime an’ confectionery… For Rudie, things are looking grim – as anyone who has ever watched a Warner’s Looney Tune knows, it’s not wise to mess with a Widdle Gway Wabbit!!
“Fine figure of a coney” indeed however Rudie’s not giving up any ground on this front. Thank you Mr. Quaggins. A fine blend of the old and the new for a belated St. Patty’s day present. (Mayhap an early May Day present?) Pip pip, cheerio and thank you for doing your bit to keep up the national morale and all in these trying times.
I bet he’d start the fight WITHOUT a drink…
Ahhh… So maybe, judging by her reaction, Rudie was, indeed, “stalking” Kelly… “Shhh! Be vewy quiet, evwyone! I’m hunting a wascally, woluptuous wabbit…”
I still think Feldhyser’s gonna blow a gasket when she finds out some Rudie floozy has been eyeballing her bunny babe. (And if you’re gonna stalk wabbit bwing a spear and magic helmet.)
Ajax isn’t the only one with a one day employment. Rudie is working just once a year as well!
Well… Rudie apparently works for the Holiday Bunko Division (who knew that even existed?) Keeping tabs on Holiday fraud year ’round… Just part of how the Fat Man keeps track of who’s Naughty or Nice – long before every corporation on the internet was snooping on your privacy as well…
Y’know, I’d thought that someone might call me on the Looney Tunes reference for the “Widdle Gway Wabbit”, when in fact, Bugs was much more of Merrie Melodies character… He only appeared in one Black an’ White Looney Tune and that was a brief cameo: “Porky Pig’s Feat” directed by the great Frank Tashlin… It wasn’t until 1944 after the Looney Tunes had become a color series that Bugs began appearing in them as well, starting with “Buckaroo Bugs: directed by Bob Clampett (the man who put the Loony into Looney Tunes!)
I basically used “Looney Tunes” in my intro note, as it’s become more recognizably identified with the classic Warners/Schlesinger cartoons in media and merchandising than Merrie Melodies…
